Agree that David Miliband unlikely now to become leader. I too voted for him but In some ways I don't forgive him for losing the leadership contest. He could and should have walked it, but he sat back and didn't fight his corner. He appeared to think he was the leader already, and there is a touch of the arrogant about him that does not appeal. Besides which the left would never accept him and the internicine warfare that characterises labour's time in opposition would undoubtedly continue under his reign.

I hope and believe that labour may have it's first female leader next time round. Yvette Cooper is favoured amongst many but I think she may find her association with her husband goes against her.

I hope for Stella Creasy who I believe is an amazing personality with lots of brains, passion, common sense and humour. I think she would be a great unifier of the party.

In any case I think the party's best opportunity lies in its 2010 intake, particularly female MPs, some great potential there and I hope we take the plunge next time round with one of them.

Though to be fair, the party rarely does anything I would like it to do, the election of Tony Blair being the honourable exception!

I missed Free Practice but I heard a bit about what had happened about Crofty being rude. The coverage is great but what seriously annoys me is the constant Schumacher bashing. Every single bad moment has to be talked about and after every session they just have to go on and on and on about how Schumacher isn't as good as he used to be. We know that.

It is a shame how they responded and very out of order.

Nice reading your take on Pontrieux and so many things you describe are so familiar to me and made me smile with nostalgia. I have often walked or cycled past your tea room, but never yet gone in...maybe my next visit, who knows?!

May I suggest a compromise position? Whether Brown's getting better at PMQ's is unknown to me - I'm always sat in my office at lunch time on a Wednesday. But the highlights the BBC choose to show have got better since Brown got in.

But at the end of the day, it's harmless theatre. I doubt many people decide the way they're going to vote on despatch box performance.

I agree. I contacted Mr Dromey after his last media interview to advise him that I felt he was undermining Tony Blair and, further, that was his intention. He and his wife have always supported Gordon Brown. I am sure that support is wavering when GB failed to even acknowledge Harriet Harman's integrity at his monthly press conference. I do not believe for one moment that she wittingly acted improperly. This PM is going to cost Labour the next election. He has had years of planning and scheming to become leader and he is not doing well. It just shows you how well Tony Blair kept things together during his premiership. I hope those traitors who sought to oust him hang their heads in shame. I am feeling embarrassed, ashamed and depressed at the present time at how the government is performing. I see no leadership - just strategy and the never ending enquiries to deflect the lack of leadership. In despair.........
